The mobile number is made up of a 10 digit number between 0 and 9 and it is a single digit. If the mobile number was of one digit, then there are total 10 different numbers from 0 to 9 digits. Telecom Regulatory Authority of India has directed to put zero in front of the number on calls from landline from 15 January 2021. With this change in the dialing system, telcos will be able to create 2544 million additional numbers for mobile services.

For your information, let us tell you that before 2003, 9 digit mobile number was used, but due to increasing population, it was reduced to 10 digits after 2003.
