BSNL is launching its 5G service, TATA ready to help
BSNL is launching its 5G service: Users of Bharatiya Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) are going to get a new update of 5G service soon. Union Telecom and Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Thursday said that state-owned BSNL’s 4G-based technology will be updated within the next 5 to 7 months. He told that it will be started from 1.35 lakh telephone towers of the company across the country.
At the Confederation of Industry event, Ashwini Vaishnav said that in order to promote new technology in the country, the government has planned to increase the Telecom Technology Development Fund from Rs 4,000 crore to Rs 5,000 crore. He told that BSNL will be in a very strong position in the telecom sector in the coming times. Ashwini Vaishnav said in this program that BSNL currently has 1 lakh 35 thousand towers across the country.
TATA will help BSNL
TCS (Tata Consultancy) will assist BSNL in scaling up its 5G services in the country. According to sources, BSNL has sought equipment from Tata to test its 5G services. Only after getting these devices, the company will start its 5G trial in the country. It is being said that where the network of private telecom companies is not reaching, BSNL’s 5G services will be provided first.
Where has 5G service reached so far?
Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel have already started offering their 5G services. Whereas, Vodafone Idea (VI) is yet to launch its 5G. If sources are to be believed, Jio has launched 5G service in Delhi-NCR including Gujarat, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bengaluru. At the same time, Bharti Airtel also launched its 5G service in major cities like Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Siliguri, Nagpur Panipat, Guwahati and Patna.
